DSers Tutorial: Connect AliExpress to Shopify and Automate Your Orders, Step by Step

Vincent Fredet··Updated on September 18, 2026·6 min read

Without a tool, selling an AliExpress product on Shopify means copying each customer's address by hand into AliExpress, paying order by order, then coming back to paste the tracking number into Shopify. Fine for three orders, not for thirty.

DSers does this work for you. It's the most used app for the job: on the Shopify App Store, it shows a 5.0 rating across more than 6,000 reviews. It doesn't present itself as an official AliExpress partner, it's an independent tool that also handles 1688 and Alibaba.

This tutorial follows the order in which you'll actually use it.

What you need before you start

  • A Shopify store, even if it's not published yet. If you don't have one, you can generate it with Scale Ova from your product.
  • An AliExpress account, with a card or payment method saved.
  • The product or products you want to sell, spotted on AliExpress. If you're still choosing, how to find a supplier helps you sort through them.
  1. In your Shopify admin, open the App Store and search for DSers.
  2. Click Install, then accept the permissions. DSers needs access to your products and orders to sync them.
  3. Once in DSers, link your AliExpress account when the app asks. Log in with the account that will pay for the orders.

That's it for the connection. Your DSers account can manage several Shopify stores, up to three on the free plan.

Step 2: import your first product

  1. On AliExpress, copy the product page link.
  2. In DSers, go to Import List and paste the link into the import bar. The product arrives with its photos, variants and supplier price.
  3. If you prefer, the DSers Chrome extension adds an import button right on AliExpress pages.

The product isn't in your store yet. It waits in the import list, where you'll prepare it.

Step 3: prepare the product before pushing it

This is the step most people rush, and it's the one that makes the difference between a credible store and an AliExpress copy.

  • The title. Replace the supplier's title, often a string of keywords, with a clear product name.
  • The description. Delete the supplier's. You'll rewrite it with the method from the product page that converts.
  • The variants. Remove the ones you don't want to sell, and rename the others in your language.
  • The photos. Remove those with Chinese text or another shop's logo. Your own photos, taken during your test order, will do better.
  • The price. Set your selling price from your real cost, shipping included. The profit margin calculator gives you the right number.

When it's ready, click Push to Store. The product is created in Shopify.

Mapping means telling DSers which AliExpress variant matches which variant in your store. When you import a product, it's done automatically. You come back to it in two cases: if you created the product in Shopify without going through DSers, or if you want to change supplier.

  1. Go to My Products and open the product.
  2. Choose the supplier, then match each of your variants to the corresponding AliExpress variant.
  3. Double-check sizes and colours. One mistake here, and your customer gets a blue M instead of a black L.

Depending on your plan, DSers also lets you set a backup supplier, or a different supplier per shipping country. Check the detail on their pricing page before relying on it.

Step 5: choose the shipping method

Each AliExpress product offers several shipping methods, with different delivery times and prices. That choice decides the delivery time you can promise.

In DSers settings, set a default shipping method, and check it product by product. AliExpress Choice products often arrive faster in Europe than others. Always compare the stated delivery time with your own test order: the second one is what counts.

Step 6: place the orders

When a customer buys in your store:

  1. The order shows up in DSers, under Open Orders, with the customer's address already filled in. The free plan also fixes common address errors automatically.
  2. Check the order, then click to place it with the supplier. You can select all pending orders and place them in one go.
  3. Pay on AliExpress. Your customer has already paid you, you pay the supplier with that money.

Leave a note asking the supplier not to put any invoice or advertising in the parcel. Your customer should receive your product, not another shop's.

Step 7: tracking comes back on its own

When the supplier ships, DSers fetches the tracking number and adds it to the order in Shopify. If shipping notifications are turned on in Shopify, your customer gets the email with their tracking link, without you doing anything.

Keep an eye on orders that still have no tracking after a few days: it's often the sign of a slow supplier, to chase or replace.

Free or paid plan?

Basic (free) Advanced ($19.90 per month)
Stores 3 10
Products 3,000 20,000
Bulk orders Yes Yes
Automatic address correction Yes Yes
Tracking sent back to Shopify Yes Yes
Automatic stock sync No Yes
Automatic price sync No Yes
Automatic pricing rules No Yes

To start and test your first products, the free plan is enough. Move to Advanced when you have enough orders that a supplier stockout or price increase costs you more than the subscription. Without automatic sync, check your products' stock and price at the supplier yourself, at least once a week.

The mistakes that cost money

  • Publishing the supplier's description as is. It's machine-translated and identical on hundreds of stores.
  • Forgetting shipping in your price. The price shown on AliExpress isn't what you pay once shipping is added.
  • Never ordering yourself. You know neither the real delivery time nor the real quality.
  • Showing a delivery time that's too short. A customer who's been told waits. A surprised customer writes, then asks for a refund.
  • Letting orders sit. Place your orders every day: every day of waiting adds to your customer's delivery time.

FAQ

Is DSers free?
Yes, the Basic plan is free: up to 3 stores and 3,000 products, with bulk orders and tracking sent back to Shopify. Automatic stock and price sync is on the Advanced plan, at $19.90 per month.
Is DSers an official AliExpress app?
No, DSers is an independent app that doesn't present itself as an official AliExpress partner. It works by linking your own AliExpress account.
Does DSers pay for orders for me?
No. DSers prepares the orders with the supplier, but you pay them on AliExpress, in one go for all selected orders.
Can my customer tell they're buying from AliExpress?
Not in your store or in Shopify emails. They might guess from the packaging or an invoice in the parcel: ask the supplier not to include one, and check with your test order.
Can I use DSers with a supplier other than AliExpress?
DSers also handles 1688 and Alibaba. For CJdropshipping, BigBuy or print on demand, use each one's own app, compared in how to find a supplier.
